Wannabee a newbee?

What is ECOBA?
The East Central Ohio Beekeepers Association is a group of hobby, retail and commercial beekeepers, who work with these incredible animals for enjoyment and to provide products and services to the community, including honey, woodenware, pollination, queens beeswax, nucleus hives, and other products and services either produced by the Association or other members of the Association..

We work to educate the community about the importance of honey bees, which pollinate many of the staple foods we enjoy, from fruits and nuts to productive pasture for livestock.

Visitors and guests are welcome at meetings, held the third Thursday each month at 6:30 p.m. in the main building at Infirmary Mound Park, 4351 Lancaster Rd, Granville, Ohio (State Route 37 south of Granville)

Benefits of an ECOBA membership
We offer a spring Beginning Beekeeper class based on science and presented by experienced local beekeepers. Completion of the class often entitles students to discounted orders on first orders from major beekeeping supply houses.

Our members are experienced beekeepers willing to teach and mentor newbees, helping them establish and care for their colonies.

You’ll learn something new at each of our monthly membership meetings, which feature presentations by apiarists, honey bee researchers, commercial and sideline beekeepers, vendors and others who can help you achieve your beekeeping goals.

Connect to local, state, national and international beekeeping conferences. Get discounts on package bees, workshops and seminars in advanced honey bee management.

Annual dues also entitle members to use the association’s extractor and other honey harvesting equipment as it is acquired.
